Vinita Nair

In July 2004 she joined the station and was able to cover a range of topics, including an investigation into the killing of Jon Benet Ramsey and the shootings in Bailey, Colorado. Nair joined ABC News as an anchor/correspondent for ABC News Now in December 2007. In this role she hosted live coverage and news briefs for ABC's digital channel. Nair was a co-anchor for World News Now, America This Morning and ABC's digital channel from September 17th, 2008 to February 18, 2011. In both programs, she was partnered first by Jeremy Hubbard then later Rob Nelson. Nair announced on Thursday, 17th February, 2011, the date for her final night broadcasting at World News Now would be the evening of Friday, 18th February. Her final day with ABC News would be Friday 18, February. The former KDVR Denver anchor Peggy Bunker was her replacement immediately. The February 18 edition of World News Now paid tribute to Nair during each of its three segments, including appearances by current and former colleagues including Jeremy Hubbard.
